Coronavirus update 18.03.2020

Dear Parents,

I would like to reassure you that we’re taking the necessary steps to protect everyone in our community and are continuing to follow the official guidance. This says that schools should remain open and that pupils should attend unless any members of your household have symptoms of coronavirus

  • A high temperature (37.8 degrees and above) or
  • A new, continuous cough

If they do all household members should remain at home for 14 days and the household should follow the guidance for households with symptoms. https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/covid-19-stay-at-home-guidance

Accessing learning at home

We have had a number of parents asking how their children can access learning while they are at home. On the parent link of the school website https://www.kimberworthprimary.org.uk I’ve added an area for homework and an area with learning links.

The homework leaflet sets out all the areas that are covered in each year group and lots of these are things you can practise at home like counting, remembering number facts or telling the time. Practising these regularly and reading every day will really benefit your child.

The learning links lead to websites which have lots of useful learning activities across the curriculum. In particular Espresso has activities for all age groups across the curriculum. The username for all children is student27332 and the password is pupil1 .

There is also a website called Twinkl which has many activities and currently has free access for parents if you use the code UKTWINKLHELPS when you log in.

I’ll continue to add to these areas over the coming days with more resources.

What happens if the school has to close?

School will only close if we are officially advised to or if we don’t have enough staff to run safely. In this case we would contact parents as soon as possible by text and put all information on the school website and Twitter account@KimberworthPri1. Please make sure your contact details are up to date so that you will receive this information.

I would like to thank the staff for their hard work and our families for their support at this difficult time.

Kind regards,

Miss Stothard
