IMG_0304The Yorkshire Man of Steel will soon grace the skyline of Rotherham and a 2.5 tonne Heart of Steel will become a part of this 30 metre high sculpture.

The unveiling of a replica heart took place in the Minster Gardens in Rotherham on Saturday 4th July by the sculptor, Steve Mehdi.

Members of the Winterhill Enterprise Youth Hub were given the task of filling time capsules to be buried under the heart in the town centre. The children worked together to collect items which represented their lives today and they included coins, toys, loom bands, school logos, pop group posters, newspapers and many other things

Kaelie Morton, Y2, proudly represented our school at the event and she was chosen to place one of the time capsules under the heart. Kaelie really enjoyed being involved and she was presented with a t shirt and a goody bag to thank her.
