The children are beginning to write their own story with a historical setting, which is Pompeii where they will be writing about the adventures of the Romans during the volcanic eruption of Pompeii.  The children have been looking at the key features of a story and the techniques of writing stories that are set in the path,

In our numeracy we have been looking at place value and how this links to other areas of numeracy.  Also as a class we have been consolidating our multiplication tables especially in our 2, 5 and 10 as this is our focus for the month including the inverse.

The next two weeks we will be looking at art work and building up using different mediums.

Over the coming weeks we will also be creating a 3D volcano which will explode in the final 2 weeks of term, this is after we have researched about different types of volcanoes.  We will also be learning about the rocks that are formed during a volcanic eruption.
