Screen Shot 2015-06-15 at 09.25.51Class One spent the day at Old Moor, an RSPB nature reserve in the Dearne Valley. We spent the morning in a bird hide, where we were lucky enough to spot beautiful birds such as the Bullfinch and Robin. After that, we walked to one of the smaller lakes, to have a go at pond dipping! We found all sorts of little beasties, including a Damselfly.

Then it was time for a picnic in the sunshine! After dinner, we gathered materials to make a birds nest in the woodland and then finished the day using large nets to catch little creatures in the grassland.

We all learnt lots of facts about different habitats and why it is important to care for these special places. Class One were fantastic, a real credit to our school.
