It is with great pleasure that I welcome you back to a brand new school year. Our staff team has been working hard to make sure that the classrooms are welcoming and purposeful for all of you as learners. Every classroom has lovely resources and they have been waiting for the children to come back and start using them again, including lots of new reading books.
We have an incredibly exciting year ahead of us with lots of super things to look forwards to. We have made a few changes to our Science curriculum and will be organising a Science week later this term.
We promise you that we will work incredibly hard for you so that your children can have choices as to how they want to be employed when they are adults. We need your help too. Homework will be coming out in the second week of term. Once again the biggest gift you can give your children is to get them reading and praise them when they choose to do homework without being asked. If children are motivated to do something on their own they will do so much better in the long run.
We made great progress with attendance last year; we finished the year with 94.7%, which is an improvement on the previous year. Thank you so much to everyone who worked hard to get their children to school. We will start measuring the % of attendance in school from Wednesday 5th September.
If we can support you in any way at all this year, do not hesitate to contact the school office to make an appointment.
Dinner money has increased by 5p a day. A meal per day costs £1.85 and for a week it is now £9.25
Please could I draw your attention to the section from the school prospectus that states:
Please leave jewellery, mobile phones and toys at home as we cannot accept responsibility for loss or damage of any personal belongings.
Thank you for your cooperation
