Class 4 have had a fabulous visit to Cadbury World. During the day they visited the Tropical rainforest to learn about the origins of chocolate. The Aztecs first discovered chocolate many years ago although it didn’t arrive in Europe until much later. As we followed the history of chocolate we arrived in a Victorian Street where the Cadbury business began. We have learned about the chocolate making process and how chocolate is produced from cocoa bean to bar. Eventually, Bournville village grew around the factory to house the workers and their families. The business has grown from strength to strength and the delicious chocolate is still produced at the factory in Birmingham today. We had lots of opportunities to taste the chocolate and create our own chocolate experience at the end of the day.
