Design and Technology
At Kimberworth, we want to ensure that children are given opportunities to develop their creativity and imagination. We study designers and makers through time to see how they have influenced society today. The children are taught to combine their designing and making skills with knowledge and understanding in order to design and make a purposeful product. We encourage the children to take risks with their learning and try out new ideas. The children are taught to think critically and evaluate their work. Design and Technology allows children to apply the knowledge and skills learned in other subjects, particularly Maths, Science and Computing and we foster those links with the children to help them make connections in their learning.
