Science at Kimberworth CPS
At Kimberworth Community Primary School we aim to deliver a high quality, inclusive Science curriculum which provides the foundations for understanding the world through the specific disciplines of biology, chemistry and physics.
Our Science curriculum supports and develops children's scientific understanding of their world, introducing new information in sequencial steps. It builds on the children's natural curiosity wherby they develop a scientific approach to problem solving. We want our Science learning to be exciting and so whenever possible include memorable hands on experiences where children develop their investigative and thinking skills.
Across the curriculum we have a focus on explicitly teaching vocabulary and in Science we carefully plan for this to extend our children's scientific vocabulary.
The curriculum prepares the children for life in an increasingly scientific and technological world today and in the future.
